Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki condemns the non-UN-sanctioned bombings and military operations carried out by US-led forces against sovereign nations, Press TV reported.

Speaking at the Friends of Pakistan conference in Vienna on Friday, Mottaki criticized the unsanctioned attacks as the wrong solution to the problems in the region, warning that "such practices intensify sensitivities and fuel extremism."

The foreign minister regretted the influence of terrorism and insecurity on development and economy in Pakistan despite the country's potentials in different fields.

Mottaki enumerated drug and human trafficking, extremism, terrorism and organized crime as the major challenges that are "deeply rooted" in the South Asian region.

The Iranian foreign minister recalled the devastating flood in Pakistan and appealed to donor states to extend their humanitarian aid to the disaster-hit country.

Over the past few years, unmanned US planes have been attacking Pakistan's northwestern tribal regions bordering Afghanistan.

The drone attacks, initiated by former US president George W. Bush and which continued under President Barack Obama, have drastically increased in recent weeks at a time when floods have caused massive devastation in the country.

As anti-American sentiments are seething across Pakistan, the government in Islamabad has condemned the unauthorized US airstrikes, saying they violate the county's sovereignty.
