Saudi Arabia's intervention in the ongoing processes in Bahrain is disappointing; the situation is a reminder that one day Saudi Arabia may face such disturbances under any pretext, Iranian tabnak.ir.news agency quotes the country's Supreme Leader's Chief Advisor for Military Affairs and Assistant Seyyed, Yahya Safavi, as saying.

Following the anti-government rallies, the Bahraini officials appealed member-countries of the Cooperation Council of Arab Gulf States with a request to send additional forces to deal with protesters. Several countries, including Saudi Arabia, sent hundreds of soldiers to Bahrain.

The Saudi forces' placement in Bahrain contradicts international law and a military intervention in Bahrain's internal affairs, Safavi said. "The Saudi forces' actions in Bahrain are condemned in terms of human and Islamic values," he said.

The Iranian army is very strong and is able to create stability in the Persian Gulf, with a view to ensure energy security in this strategic region and in the country, he said.
