Iran Materials 3 May 2011 10:40 (UTC +04:00)

If according to Americans' claim Osama bin-Laden has actually got killed; there is no more excuse of US presence in region anymore, IRI Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said at a press conference at the end of his day-long visit of Qatar, IRNA reported.

"Our initial stand was, and still is that the Americans should not have dispatched military forces to the region on that pretext," Salehi told.

"Our stand was proved to be quite justifiable in the years that followed, because the problem posed by Bin Laden and his terror organization, was not solved through a military invasion, and even eventually, it was a competent commando group that killed him, not military troops," he reiterated.

The Iranian top diplomat pointed out that we have been witnesses to getting killed of tens of thousands of innocent people by the Americans, arguing, "There is no place for the presence of the Americans in the region in the future, and even the US public opinion is not pleased with the presence of the Americans in the region."

He reiterated, "If the Americans had deployed their military forces to the region resorting to that pretext, the problem is no solved and the Americans had better leave the region as soon as possible to end the massacre of more innocent people in the region."
