Iranian Navy Brigade Commander Hossein Molai was killed in a shootout with a criminal gang at the Konarak Port in the Sistan-Baluchestan province, the IRIB News official website reported.

Iranian Navy Brigade Commander Hossein Molai was killed in a shootout with a criminal gang at the Konarak Port in the Sistan-Baluchestan province, the IRIB News official website reported.

According to information, Molai was killed while performing a secret mission. Additional information about the incident has not been reported.

The funeral will be held on Monday.

The Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan, which borders Pakistan is densely populated with Sunni. Jundallah (Army of God) created in 2003 operates primarily in Sistan-Baluchestan. Jundallah uses a variety of terrorist tactics, including suicide bombings, ambushes, kidnappings and targeted assassinations.
