Iranian Foreign Minister
Ali Akbar Salehi says the Islamic Republic and European countries have a great potential for cooperation in all areas, Press TV reported.
Salehi made the remarks during a meeting with the new Belgian ambassador to Iran, Danielle del Marmol, in Tehran on Monday, IRNA reported.
The Iranian foreign minister also called for the expansion of relations between Tehran and Brussels.
Salehi pointed to the important geographical positions of Iran and Belgium in the Middle East and Europe, saying that they have the potential to increase the level of their interactions in all spheres.
Marmol called for closer cooperation between the Islamic Republic and Belgium, and expressed hope that relations between the two countries would be strengthened during his mission to Iran.
The Belgium ambassador also presented his credentials to the Iranian foreign minister.
