Iran's oil refining capacity will grow by 31,000 bpd when the Shahzad refinery's kerosene purification unit becomes operational, according to deputy oil minister Alireza Zeyghami, Pana news reported.
The kerosene produced by the purification unit will meet the European Union's (EU) Euro 5 emission standards and sulphur levels will drop to 20 ppm's (parts per million).
The new project will increase Iran's gasoline production capacity by 141,000 litres per day. Up to now three processing projects have moved forward at the Shahzand refinery. Getting them underway will increase production capacity to 230,000 bpd.
