Iran is now a major PVC product exporter fpr international markets, according to the ISNA news agency.
Reduced dependence on imported materials was a great achievement for Iran in the petrochemical industry in the past calendar year, which ended on March 19, the report added.
Iran has developed 69 plans to boost petrochemical output to 100 million tons by 2015 from 54 million tons in the past year, the managing director of Emam Khomeini Petrochemical Company, Hasan Taqavi Ganji, said.
Iran exported some $12 billion worth of petrochemical products during the past 11 months, Fars news agency reported.
National Petrochemical Company Production Manager Mohammad-Ali Bassaqzadeh said 30 kinds of petrochemical products have been exported to Asian, European, and African countries in the past 11 months.
