The International Atomic Energy Agency's Deputy Director-General Herman Nackaerts, who heads the IAEA delegation in nuclear talks with Iran, said after the start of negotiations with the Iranian team in Vienna on Monday that he is optimistic about continued talks with Tehran, Fars reported.

"We are hopeful about continuing talks with Iran," Nackaerts said.

The two sides aim to reach an agreement on "unsettled (outstanding) issues" during the new round of negotiations, he added.

The Iranian delegation is led by Tehran's residing Representative at the IAEA Ali Asgar Soltaniyeh.

The new round of talks would focus on working out a framework and action plan for resolving outstanding issues between the two sides.
