Iran, Pakistan should be more active in border trade transactions

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the borders regions between Iran and Pakistan should be the most active ones in terms of trade and commercial transactions, IRNA reported.

President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Pakistani Speaker of Senate Seyed Nir Hossein Bokhari in Tehran on Sunday.

"The geographical borders between Iran and Pakistan are only due to the geopolitical divisions notwithstanding the fact that the people of Iran and Pakistan have numerous cultural commonalities emanating from the same source and origin," the president added.

He emphasized on need for making use from the existing potentials for cooperation between Iran and Pakistan for meeting the needs of both countries.

Referring to the fact that there is currently no obstacle, restriction and negative point hindering improvement of relations between Tehran and Islamabad, President Ahmadinejad pointed out that Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan have common interests and they also have common enemies that never want the two countries to make progress or become powerful.

He emphasized Tehran and Islamabad unlike the will of their enemies should consolidate their friendly ties more than before.

Referring to the fact that the meddling of foreigners in the incidents and affairs of the region is clearly evident, President Ahmadinejad noted that the arrogant powers and enemies of the regional countries do not like the the regional countries get closer to each other.
