Iran has earned about $86 billion through the customs and foreign trade in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year, IRIB News reported.
Deputy director of Planning and international affairs of Iranian Customs, Behzad Shiri said today that at the end of the year Iran plans to reach $100 billion.
He added that the mentioned figures showcase the role of customs in the country.
Shiri also said that Iran's GDP this current Iranian year is estimated at $300 million.
He noted that there are plans to simplify the customs procedures and improve service quality, to increase the foreign trade through the customs, which play an important role in the national economy.
According to the latest report issued by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, the volume of Iran's trade transactions hit $78.15 billion in the first ten months of the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2012).
Iraq, China, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and India were the main importers of Iranian goods, respectively accounting for $5.33 billion, $4.381 billion and $3.583 billion, $2.286 billion and $2.244 billion of the total value of exports.
Wheat, iron and non-alloy steel ingots, corn fodder, soybean meal and rice were the main commodities imported, while propane, urea, and methanol were the main goods exported.
