A reformist presidential hopeful criticizes the incumbent government of Iran for its weak economic performance, Khabaronline News Website reported.

Mohammad Shariat-madari said that the all-time high liquidity in Iran is because of the wrong policies of the current government.

The wrong policies have resulted in spiraling inflation and soaring prices, he said.

The former minister of commerce said that if elected president, he'll strive to bring the economy back on track with the help of competent experts.

As for foreign policy, Shariat-madari pledged to adopt reforms in the diplomatic apparatus and safeguard Iran's interests in the international arena.

In September, the Iranian Interior ministry announced that the country will hold the 11th presidential election on June 14, 2013.

The voters will select the successor of the current President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is not able to participate in the elections for the third term according to the country's constitutional laws.

The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in a national election and the Guardian Council vets the candidates for qualifications.
