Tehran, Iran, March.11
Former Iranian business advisor in Lebanon and Syria Sajjadnejad hopes that the relations between Iran and Syria would strengthen and improve further.
"The relations between two countries are based on hundreds of years, hopefully it could be common cooperation and expansion of political and economic ties during this important time, despite various conspiracies in the region," he said, Trend reports via ILNA.
Speaking at the meeting, attended by member of Iran's Chamber of Commerce members and Syrian businessmen, he said that currently 88 items (goods) are exported from Iran to Syria, and this volume should increase.
"The level of relations could be improved. The free trade plan with Syria has been signed and we hope the current 4 percent customs tariff would reduce to zero," said Sajjadnejad.
"Hopefully the relations of two countries in private sector would increase and reach the targets, in transportation field we are negotiating to reduce the transportation costs to minimum," he added.
