Non-oil exports from Iran's Khuzestan Province to Iraq decline

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. Exports of non-oil products from Iran's Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran to Iraq decreased by 34 percent in value terms and 1 percent in weight terms compared to the previous Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), the controller of customs in Iran's Khuzestan Province, Behrouz Gharabeigi said, Trend reports.

According to him, 6.69 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.69 billion were exported from Khuzestan Province to Iraq last year.

Gharabeigi added that mainly petrochemical products, agricultural products, electronics, construction materials, and many others are exported from the province.

Meanwhile, last year, Iran's non-oil exports to Iraq amounted to $9.22 billion. Iraq was the second largest exporter of Iranian non-oil products.

To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, last year the country's exports of non-oil products amounted to more than 136 million tons worth $49.3 billion. Iran's exports of non-oil products decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 9.82 percent in weight terms compared to the previous year.
