Non-oil exports in Iran's two provinces hike

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. The export of non-oil products from Southeast Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Provinces has increased by 30 percent in value terms and 58 percent in weight terms during 2 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through May 21, 2023), controller of customs of Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province Mohammad Ali Khashi said, Trend reports.

According to him, a total of 334,000 tons of non-oil products worth about $52.4 million were exported from Sistan and Baluchestan provinces within 2 months.

Khashi added that the exported products were mainly cement, hard coal, fruits, tomatoes, persimmons, and others.

The official noted that the products were exported mainly to Pakistan, China, Kuwait, Iraq, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and India.

Khashi stressed that for the second month (from April 20 through May 20, 2024), 368,000 tons of products worth about $205 million were exported from other provinces of the country through the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan provinces. Compared to the same month last year (from April 21 through May 21, 2023), the export of products increased by 11 percent in value and 9 percent in weight.

To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, the country's non-oil exports in the first month of the current Iranian year amounted to 9.7 million tons worth $3.17 billion. Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 16.9 percent in value terms and 9.66 percent in weight terms in the first month compared to the same month of last year.
