BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. The transit of products through Sistan and Baluchestan provinces located in southeastern Iran decreased by 9 percent during the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through May 21, 2023), controller of customs of Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province Mohammad Ali Khashi said, Trend reports.
According to him, a total of 133,488 tons of products have been transported from Sistan and Baluchestan provinces during the past two months.
Khashi noted that 6,673 trucks and 171 railcars transported the produce. The transit goods were rice, leather, sulfur, cloth, dry fruits, tea, spices, and cigarettes.
The official stated that the products are in transit between Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, India, the UAE, and Iraq.
To note, a total of 3.64 million tons of products were transited through Iran during the 2 months. Transit through Iran increased by 56.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
