BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. A total of $420 million has been spent on the construction of the Iranshehr-Makran-Chabahar-Konarak gas pipeline in Sistan and Baluchestan provinces located in the southeast of Iran, the statement of Iran's Oil Ministry said, Trend reports.

The event was held on June 6 and was attended by Acting Iranian President Mohammad Mokhber, Oil Minister Javad Owji, National Gas Company Executive Director Majid Chegeni, and other officials in a video format. Several transportation and gas supply inaugurations took place at the event.

The length of the Iranshehr-Makran-Chabahar-Konarek gas pipeline is 200 kilometers. The diameter of the pipe is 56 inches.

The southern cities and districts of Sistan and Baluchestan province were easily supplied with gas with the commissioning of this pipeline.

This pipeline is the third gas pipeline commissioned under the current government of Iran (the current government of Iran has been in power since August 2021) in the provinces of Sistan and Baluchistan, after the Zahedan – Zabol, Iranshahr-Palizan-Khash-Mirjaveh."

To note, Iran's domestic gas transportation potential (for domestic consumption, CHP consumption, etc.) is 950 million cubic meters. Gas from Iran's 22 gas processing plants, oil zones, and two underground storage facilities is transported across the country through the country's 39,000-kilometer-long gas transmission network.
