BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. About $295 million has been spent on the commissioning of 5 gas pressure boosting stations in Iran, the statement of Iran's Oil Ministry said, Trend reports.
The event was held on June 6 with the participation of Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian on the commissioning of several energy facilities in Sistan and Baluchestan provinces of Iran. The event was attended by 1st Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, Acting President of Iran, in video format.
A total of $45.5 million was spent to put into operation 1 gas pressure boosting station in Seemnan province, located in northern Iran. This station increased the volume to 10 million cubic meters per day to increase the potential of gas transportation to the north and northeast of the country.
Bushehr Province in southern Iran has put 1 gas pressure boosting station into operation. A sum of $72 million has been spent on this station. The station will increase gas pressure to 107 million cubic meters daily. The station is located on Iran's Main Gas Pipeline 6. Pipeline 6 has the function of increasing gas pressure in the west and southwest of Iran and exporting gas to Iraq.
Iran's southwestern provinces of Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari have put into operation 1 gas pressure boosting station worth $64 million. The station is located on Iran's 10th main gas pipeline and is capable of transporting 90 million cubic meters of gas daily.
In the Fars Province, located in the south of Iran, 1 gas pressure boosting station has been put into operation with an expenditure of $62 million. This station is located on the 10th main gas pipeline and has the potential to transport 90 million cubic meters of gas per day.
In Isfahan Province, located in the center of Iran, 1 gas pressure boosting station has been put into operation for $51 million. This station can transport 60 million cubic meters of gas per day.
To note, Iran's domestic gas transportation potential (for domestic consumption, CHP consumption, etc.) is 950 million cubic meters. Gas from Iran's 22 gas processing plants, oil zones, and two underground storage facilities is transported across the country through the country's 39,000-kilometer-long gas transmission network.
