BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. Abdolnaser Hemmati has been elected as Iran's Minister of Economy and Finance, Trend reports.
According to information, today (August 21), Iran's parliament held a vote of confidence in the candidates proposed by new President Masoud Pezeshkian.
During the vote, Abdolnaser Hemmati was elected to the post with 192 votes.
To note, Iran's new president, Masoud Pezeshkian, submitted the names of the proposed ministers for a vote of confidence to the Iranian parliament on August 11.
Abdolnaser Hemmati served as chairman of the Central Bank of Iran from 2018 through 2021. He ran as a candidate in the presidential election held in the country in 2021.
