Iran, Türkiye finalize agreement on new border terminal

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 12. Construction and commissioning of the Kozarash international border terminal between Iran and Turkey is on the two countries' agenda, Governor of West Azerbaijan Province Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian told reporters, Trend reports.

According to Motamedian, the mentioned border terminal will become the fourth border crossing point for citizens and trade between Iran and Türkiye.

Motamedian added that constructing and commissioning this border terminal will increase trade turnover. Furthermore, discussions have been held on the establishment of infrastructure and budget allocation at the border of the two countries, and the decision to build the border terminal has been approved in both countries.

The official noted that two agreements on economy, trade, science, culture, tourism, handicraft industry, transport, and transit were signed between the border provinces of the two countries within the 7th Joint Commission of Iran-Türkiye cooperation.

The 7th meeting of economic cooperation of Iranian and Turkish border regions was held in Iran's Urmia on October 4-5.

A total of 6 border terminals are operating in Iran's West Azerbaijan Province. Three of them are located on the Iran-Türkiye border.
