Ecevit to Awaken

(Zaman) - Bulent Ecevit, the former Turkish prime minister, has been in a drug-induced sleep for the past 67 hours after undergoing brain surgery at the Gulhane Military Medical Academy, GATA, for a brain hemorrhage. Ecevit will gradually be woken from the sleep and will not be given any drugs. The condition of Ecevit will become certain after the effect of the anesthetics fade. According to the statement from GATA, the circulation datum such as pulse, tension and hearth rhythm are normal and new examinations will be conducted after the anesthetic drugs lose their effects, reports Trend.

Visitations continue while party members wait patiently for Ecevits recovery in front of GATA. Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu and National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul as well as the former ministers, Kamran Inan and Justice and Development Party member Turhan Comez also visited Ecevit earlier this morning.
