FM Gul Singles out Unity of Iraq at FM's Meeting in Tehran

(zaman.com) - Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said on Saturday that the future of Iraq was very important to its neighbors, at a meeting in Tehran.

Gul attended the 9th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of neighboring countries with Iraq on Saturday in the Iranian capital of Tehran, reports Trend.

"We should work for a united and democratic Iraq. We hope chaos and internal strife in Iraq will cease," Gul said in his speech at the meeting.

Ministers and officials from Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Turkey and Egypt have been attending the meeting.

Minister Gul is expected to meet with his Iranian counterpart Manucehr Mutteki on Sunday.
