Turkish cabinet convenes to discuss EU relations

(Cihan) - The Turkish Council of Ministers has convened for a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The meeting started at 11 p.m. on Monday at the Prime Ministry in Turkish capital Ankara, reports Trend.

Turkey's latest initiative which proposes opening of a Turkish port and an airport to Greek Cyprus in return for opening a Turkish Cypriot port and airport to international traffic will be discussed in today's cabinet meeting.

Chief EU Negotiator Ali Babacan is to brief the cabinet members regarding his latest contacts in Baltic countries.

Government spokesman and Justice Minister Cemil Cicek is expected to hold a press briefing following the cabinet meeting.
