President Ahmadinejad leaves Turkmenistan for Kyrgyzstan

( Irna ) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran left here for Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Wednesday on the third leg of his three-nation regional tour.

The president was seen off at the airport by a number of Turkmen ministers.

Earlier in the day, an official farewell ceremony was held for the Iranian president by his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov at the Presidential Palace.

During the ceremony, the two presidents reviewed the guard of honor after listening to the national anthems of the two countries.

During his two-day visit to Turkmenistan, President Ahmadinejad held talks with President Berdymukhamedov on major bilateral, regional and international developments.

Four agreements were signed for Tehran-Ashkhabad cooperation in the fields of commerce, dam building and radio and television projects.

President Ahmadinejad began his regional tour of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday.

He is to attend the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Bishkek on Thursday.
