Iran holding special economic week in Turkmenistan

A delegation of Iranian trade companies is holding a special economic week in Turkmenistan.

Mohammad-Taqi Amanpour, special envoy and representative of the Iranian oil minister, said managers of 24 Iranian companies have come to Ashgabat to attend a special economic meeting which will last till November 20, Iran's Fars news agency reported on November 18.

The meeting is aimed to discuss with Turkmen officials the implementation of industrial, technical and engineering projects by Iranian companies in Turkmenistan.

Iran is currently implementing technical and engineering projects in 17 countries.

Iran's deputy energy minister Esmaeil Mahsouli said 30 Iranian companies are implementing 88 projects, valued at $4.357 billion, in 17 countries, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on October 26.

He added that Iran has reached 95-percent self-sufficiency in building dams and power plants.

Currently, 46 Iranian companies are carrying out water and electricity projects in 41 countries, he noted.
