An Afghan trade official has said that the members of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) have agreed on creating Kabul-Tehran-Istanbul transportation corridor.
The head of the transit department at Afghanistan's Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Sayyed Yahya Akhlaqi, has said that the agreement was made during the 28th Meeting of the Regional Planning Council (RPC) of ECO last December, IRNA news agency reported.
He added that the 9th Transit Transport Coordination Council (TTCC) of ECO in Islamabad discusses the technical solutions to launch the new transportation corridor.
The three-day meeting which has been launched since February 13 in Islamabad brings together experts from ten state members to discuss transit cooperation.
