Iran plans to use domestic capabilities to solve the limitations put up by Google and Apple applications, because of US sanctions, said the Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi.

Jahromi attended the parliament committee meeting on Sunday to provide his report on the national information network.

"The provided report by the ICT minister shows the national information network has 80 percent growth across the country," said the secretary of Iranian Parliament Committee on Industries and Mines Abdollah Rezaian, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The minister has also offered various statistics in regards to information network infrastructures, indicating the country has achieved a 70 percent self-sufficiency in landline hardware and 30 percent in mobile phones production," , he added.

"The ICT minister had insisted the infrastructure is 100 percent secure," he said.

Due to US sanctions on Iran, Apple has cut off Iran from App Store, meanwhile Google, has not taken similar measures against Iranian apps on its Play Store. The company allows free Android apps on its Play Store in Iran, though it prohibits paid apps.
