Iran's power plants save 6,000 megawatt worth of energy

The saving volume of Iran's power plants had reached 6,000 megawatt, while the power consumption of the industries has reached 4,851 megawatt on Friday, said the managing director of Iran Grid Management Co. Davood Farkhzad.

"The power transmission in the country on Friday included 1,253 megawatt worth of exports and 218 megawatt worth of electricity imports. Meanwhile, the country's power plants saved more than 6,000 megawatt of energy," said Farkhzad, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"The consumption peak on Friday night had reached 47,709 megawatt, compared to same time last year (started March 21, 2018), the volume has increased by 500 megawatt," he added.

"Despite the rise of temperature during summer across the country, the power network is fully ready to face the consumption peak," he noted.
