Cut-glass producing plant to be built in Iran’s Ardabil province

The plant, which is being built in the Namin Special Economic Zone of Iran’s north-western Ardabil province, will produce 80,000 tons of cut-glass a year, Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs of Ardabil province Arjang Azizi said.

The first phase of the plant construction includes five halls which are designed for installation of equipment, Azizi added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

Azizi added that the first phase of the plant will be completed in August and 1,500 people will be employed within the first phase. In his words, a big progress was achieved after the investments worth three trillion rials (about $71.4 million) were made in the construction of the plant.

He said that the majority of the production is intended for export. commissioned.

Azizi noted that currently, there are 1,169 enterprises in the province, and more than 400 of them do not operate actively. According to him, there are 161 processing enterprises in the agricultural sector, 136 of which are actively operating enterprises.

"Last Iranian year [March 21, 2018 - March 20, 2019], 115 enterprises resumed activity in the agricultural sector and 30 enterprises in the industrial sector," he said.
