By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

Since the beginning of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), 32 production facilities have resumed operations in Iran’s Ardabil province, said Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Ardabil province Ramin Sadeghi, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He said that another 158 of 392 facilities that have stopped operating in the province may be restored.

He added that 34 percent of plants and factories in the province aren’t operating. The main problems are lack or shortage of liquidity, management problems and lack of the appropriate markets, he said.

Last Iranian year (March 21, 2018 - March 21, 2019), 6 trillion rials (about $142.8 million) were spent on the development of the manufacturing sector in the province, he noted adding that this amount is very smallcompared to the amount of funds needed to solve the existing problems.

He said that about 1,200 licenses were issued in the province over the past two years in the industry and manufacturing sector.

“In 650 projects, there is progress by over 10 percent, while employment and investment plans are being implemented within 412 projects,” he noted. “These projects will be commissioned in the next two years.”
