TEHRAN,Iran, June 9
Trend:
Iran's exports to neighboring countries via land is expected to grow, member of Iran's Export Confederation Jamshid Nafar told Trend.
"It has been forecasted that Iran's for June would increase, compared to the preceding month. Iran's export from April 20 to May 20 has increased from $1.6 billion to $2 billion, compared to the same period of last year," he said.
Although, due to coronavirus, it isn't easy to predict how the situation with exports would change, said Nafar.
He pointed out that Iran currently has issues only related to border with Turkmenistan, however the issue is to be solved soon, once the Iran-Turkmenistan bridge project kicks in.
"Although the Turkmen border is important in terms of transportation of Iran's exports to Europe, the issue will soon be dealt with," he said.
"Iran's joint borders with Iraq are open and active. The western borders are very important since Iraq is the first destination country," he added.
"Border with Turkey is also important since it transfers our exports to Europe and considerable number of trucks daily transport goods via border," he said.
