The speaker of Iranian parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said that turning the Iran-China 25-year agreement into a strategic cooperation requires serious will of both countries, Trend reports via Mehr News Agency.
Referring to the signing of a 25-year Iran-China cooperation agreement, Qalibaf said that “signing a strategic document with China is an important element of power generation in the context of looking at Asia with a balanced foreign policy and economy-oriented approach."
"Unfortunately, important opportunities have been missed,” he said. “Now turning a strategic document into a strategic partnership requires serious will to ensure the economic benefits of the Iranian people.”
Iran and China have signed a 25-year agreement to expand ties as the Islamic republic struggles to prove the resilience of its economy.
