Iran plans to send more fuel to Lebanon

TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.8

Trend:

Iran plans to supply more fuel and oil to Lebanon and it's even ready to build power plants to ease the energy crisis in Lebanon, said Iranian energy expert Reza Mirabian, Trend reports citing ILNA.

A third tanker carrying Iranian fuel for distribution in Lebanon has reached the Syrian port city of Baniyas on Wednesday, that is being delivered to Lebanon by truck convoys.

"Iran continues to send fuel and oil to Lebanon and the energy supply would not be limited to the previous three tankers," Mirabian noted.

Iran previously had a plan for power plant construction in Lebanon and it has the capacity to build two power plants, if the Lebanese government requests it.

The severe shortage of fuel in Lebanon stems from the country's economic collapse. The country's hospitals, vehicles and power plants are in need of fuel.
