BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 15. Iran's Yazd province, located in the center of the country, exported 3.12 million tons of non-oil products worth $517 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), director general of the customs department of Iran's Yazd province, Mohammad Hossein Salmani said, Trend reports.
According to him, Iran's non-oil exports from Yazd Province increased by 8 percent in value terms and decreased by 4 percent in weight terms in the last Iranian year compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023).
Salmani stated that ceramics, light hydrocarbons, iron and steel, construction materials, and others were exported from Iran's Yazd province last year. The products were mainly exported to the UAE, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Oman, and Türkiye.
The official noted that 138,000 tons of products worth $340 million were imported to Iran's Yazd province last year. The import of the products increased by 31 percent in value and 7 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
Salmani added that the imported products were mainly raw materials, factory spare parts, and equipment. The products were mainly imported from China, Türkiye, the Netherlands, Italy, and the UAE.
Meanwhile, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, the country's exports of non-oil products in the last Iranian year amounted to more than 136 million tons worth $49.3 billion. Compared to the previous year, Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 9.82 percent in weight terms.
To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, the country's product imports last year amounted to 39 million tons worth approximately $66.3 billion. Product imports increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
