BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. A total of 11 solar power plants, one wind power plant, and a hydroelectric power plant have been up and running in 7 provinces of Iran, the statement of Iran's Energy Ministry reads, Trend reports.
A video conference event was held in connection with the commissioning of the power plants. Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian and other officials attended the event.
The capacity of the power plants commissioned in 7 provinces (Razavi Khorasan, Markazi, Qom, Kerman, Yazd, Semnan, and Lorestan) is currently 74 megawatts. The development of these stations is on the cards for the future.
Furthermore, the second solar panel manufacturing plant of Mana Energy Pak has been commissioned. This plant can produce panels with a total production capacity of 1,800 megawatts per year.
To note, the present potential for electricity generation in Iran is 93,024 MW, with 1,141 MW coming from renewable power sources.
