Iran must prove its nuclear program is peaceful
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says the onus is on Iran to prove its nuclear program is peaceful, Today's Zaman reported.
UN spokesman Martin Nesirky told reporter Thursday that Ban is seriously concerned about an International Atomic Energy Agency report pointing to a possible military dimension of Iran's nuclear program.
The IAEA reported for the first time Tuesday that Iran is suspected of conducting secret experiments whose sole purpose is the development of nuclear arms.
Nesirky said the UN chief reiterated his call for Iran's compliance with UN and IAEA resolutions which include demands to suspend enrichment and negotiate on its nuclear program.
