Iran must take part in the negotiations on the Syrian settlement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, RIA Novosti reported.
"The need is obvious," Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow.
"One can talk about Iran's involvement in the negotiations when the need will be recognized by all countries, promoting this idea of creating the outer circle to assist Syrians in organizing a national dialogue," he said.
"Iran's participation is essential," the minister said.
