Russian troop withdrawal from Georgia starts - reports

Russian forces have begun withdrawing from Georgia, with a first convoy of vehicles moving out of the South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali, the state news agency RIA Nowosti reported Monday.

Citing local correspondents' reports, the agency said the Russian troop convoy was heading to Vladikavkaz in North Ossetia, dpa reported.

There was no initial official confirmation by the Russian military to the report.
