The Georgian Interior Ministry has officially denied reports that suitcases with explosive devices were found in kindergarten in Tbilisi this morning. The suitcases were empty, the head of information and analysis of the Georgian Interior Ministry told Trend.
Earlier, witnesses said two explosions took place at the kindergarten at Tabukashvili Street, where the suitcases were found.
Law enforcement officers and sappers were called this morning after teachers found two unclaimed suitcases, the city police said. Police cordoned off the perimeter of the kindergarten and children and teachers were evacuated.
It is the third case of unclaimed suitcases being found in Tbilisi during the last week. Previously, empty bags were found near the office of the Labour Party and on Queen Tamar Bridge. In all cases, the suitcases were empty, even though sappers were called out.
