Germany welcomes ongoing processes in Georgia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maia Pandzhikidze met with the Commissioner of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia Antje Leendertse.

The meeting highlighted the partnership between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany and the deepening of cooperation, the Foreign Ministry of Georgia said on Wednesday. The parties discussed the progress made by Georgia in regards to its integration into European and Euro-Atlantic institutions and its plans for future cooperation.

Georgia noted the importance of the EU Eastern Partnership Program summit scheduled for November in Vilnius and expressed hope that the summit will properly reflect the progress made by Georgia. They also talked about Georgian-Russian relations and the Geneva talks.

The representative of the German Foreign Ministry gave a positive assessment of the current processes in Georgia, including the trend of development of democratic institutions, and has reaffirmed his country's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
