The largest volume of Georgia’s exports from January through September 2021 accounted for maritime transport, which amounted to $1.3 billion, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The figure of the current year increased by 9 percent, compared to $1.1 billion over the same period of 2020.
The second-largest means of transport by exports in Georgia over the reporting period of 2021 is motor transport, which amounted to $1.2 billion – an increase of 21.9 percent, compared to $989.4 million over the first 9 months of 2020.
Air transport ranks third among the leading means of transport in Georgia over the reporting period of 2021, with a total of $170 million of exported goods.
Although, air transport showed a decrease of 8.6 percent in the reporting period of 2021, compared to $186.1 million over the first 9 months of 2020.
The remaining share of Georgian exports accounts for rail transport ($116.9 million) and other means of transport ($14.4 million).
Meanwhile, total Georgian export from January through September 2021 amounted to $2.9 billion, which is an increase of 24 percent, compared to $2.4 billion over the same period of 2020.
