Georgia’s petroleum gas imports decrease

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 29

Georgia’s imports of petroleum gas from January through October 2021 amounted to 1.3 billion tons worth $235.8 million, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The current index decreased by 1.4 percent, compared to $239.3 million worth of oil imports in the same period of 2020, the report said.

TOP-5 petroleum gas exporters to Georgia (Jan. through Oct. 2021):

Azerbaijan – $162.8 million (1 billion tons);

Russia – $72.1 million (253.5 million tons);

Kazakhstan – $725,160 (1.3 million tons);

Iran – $55,000 (36,000 tons);

Belarus – $30,000 million (20,000 tons).

Meanwhile, total Georgia’s imports from January through October 2021 amounted to $7.9 billion, which is an increase of 22.3 percent, compared to $6.4 billion over the reporting period of 2020.
