Kazakhstan ranks among main wheat and meslin exporters to Georgia

Georgia’s imports of wheat and meslin from Kazakhstan from January through November 2021 amounted to $569,020, while the volume of imports totaled 2,000 tons, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

According to Geostat, Kazakhstan’s wheat and meslin exports to Georgia in 2021 accounted for February ($178,470) and March ($390,550) – an increase of 118.8 percent month-on-month.

Meanwhile, Georgia did not import wheat and meslin from Kazakhstan in 2020.

Thus, Kazakhstan ranks third among main wheat and meslin exporters to Georgia over first 11 months of 2021, following after Russia ($82.9 million) and the US ($4.6 million).

Georgia’s total wheat and meslin imports from January through November 2021 amounted to about 352,500 tons worth $88.7 million, which is a decrease of 9.1 percent, compared to $97.6 million (448,500 tons) over the same period of 2020.
