BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 23. The trade turnover between Georgia and Uzbekistan from January through February 2022 totaled $22.2 million – an increase of 88.1 percent, compared to $11.8 million over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).
In particular, Georgia’s imports from Uzbekistan over the reporting period of 2022 amounted to $5.1 million, which is an increase of 155 percent, compared to $2 million over the same period of 2021.
Georgia’s exports to Uzbekistan from January through February 2022 amounted to $17.1 million, which is an increase of 74.4 percent, compared to $9.8 million over the same period of 2021.
According to Geostat, Uzbekistan ranks 10 among Georgia’s top trading partners by exports from January through February 2022 - 2.2 percent of the total trade turnover.
Meanwhile, Georgia’s foreign trade turnover (excluding non-declared trade) from January through February 2022 amounted to $2.5 billion, which is an increase of 49.2 percent, compared to $1.6 billion over the same period of 2021, and 38.8 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2020 ($1.8 billion).
