BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The volume of remittances inflow to Georgia from Kazakhstan in March 2022 amounted to $7.5 million, which is an increase of 226 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($2.3 million), Trend reports via statistical data of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

The same figure also increased by 525 percent, compared to March 2020, when the volume of money transfers from Kazakhstan to Georgia totaled $1.2 million.

However, the volume of remittances inflow to Georgia from Kazakhstan in March 2022 decreased by 45.2 percent, compared to February 2022 ($13.7 million).

Thus, Kazakhstan ranked 8 among the main countries of origin for money transfers to Georgia in March 2022. Italy ranked first on the list with $36 million, followed by Russia ($27 million), and the US ($25.6 million).

Meanwhile, the total volume of remittances inflow to Georgia in March 2022 amounted to $193 million, which is an increase of 2.6 percent, compared to $188.1 million over the same month of 2021, and 53.4 percent, compared to March 2020 ($125.8 million).
