The Iranian and Iraqi nations are historically tied, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, who is on one-day visit to Iraq, said at the joint news conference with his Iraqi Counterpart Hoshyar Zebari.

Those who want to damage the Iranian-Iraqi relations have certain aims, but they are mistaken, the minister was quoted by Fars news agency as saying.

During his visit, Mottaki met with another Iraqi official. "We have agreed upon three issues concerning the meeting between border services of the two countries, meeting of experts at the Qasr-e Shirin check point and meeting of the Iranian and Iraqi special committees in the Iranian   Khorramshahr city to define the Iran-Iraq water borders," Mottaki added.

He said Iran's and Iraq's border guards are at their places on the Facca oil field. Everything will come to its previous stage as soon as the working groups define the border line.

No one can damage the Iran-Iraq close relations, he added.

According to the international news agencies, in late December the Iranian troops occupied the Facca oil field in the south-east of Iraq. The troops were soon withdrawn. However, Iran refutes that Iran's troops invaded the Iraqi territory.
