Four insurgents with suspected links to al-Qaeda have been killed in an attack by government troops in the southern Yemeni city of Zinijbar, local media reported Saturday.
Troops stationed on the outskirts of the city shelled positions manned by the insurgents, the Yemeni website nabanews quoted a military source as saying, DPA reported.
The four included two foreigners, according to the source.
Since May, the army has been conducting operations in Zinjibar, the capital of the restive southern province of Abyan, against Muslim radicals with suspected links to al-Qaeda.
