( RBC ) - Gazprom and Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) have not ruled out the possibility of cooperation in the exploration, production and marketing of natural gas in third countries, the Russian gas giant's press office reported. The prospects of such a cooperation were discussed by the Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and KOGAS President Soo-Ho Lee in Moscow today.

The chief executives considered the opportunities of long-term cooperation by an agreement between the two countries' governments for the gas industry, liquefied natural gas supply and exports of Russian gas via an onshore pipeline.

At the meeting, KOGAS was given an exclusive presentation of the Eastern Program, which was endorsed by the Russian Energy Ministry on September 3. According to Gazprom's statement, the companies will build their further activities around the program.
