( dpa ) - Jordan's Court of Cassation has upheld an 18-month jail term passed earlier by the State Security Court against a citizen accused of publishing poems on the internet in praise of al- Qaeda leaders, judicial sources said Sunday.
Mohammad Hussein Zuhairi, 46, began in 2005 to establish links with Islamic fundamentalist websites and publish poems in praise of al-Qaeda leaders, notably Osama bin Laden and Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi, according to the charge sheet.
Zuhairi's poems also included remarks considered injurious to King Abdullah II, the judicial sources said.
