(dpa) - Hundreds of people were left homeless on Friday in a fire that razed more than 100 houses in a slum area in the Philippine capital, a police official said.
Superintendent Leonidez Perez said five people, including a 1-year-old boy, were slightly injured in the early morning fire in San Isidro Village in suburban Paranaque City.
Perez said the fire lasted for about two hours.
Earlier in the month, fire also left hundreds of people homeless in another another slum area in district of Tondo in downtown Manila. No injuries were reported in that incident.
