(list.co.uk) - Yoko Ono and Stella McCartney kissed and embraced each other at the funeral of 'fifth Beatle' Neil Aspinall yesterday (07.04.08).
Yoko, widow of John Lennon, and fashion designer Stella, whose father is Sir Paul McCartney, warmly greeted each other before the service at London's St. Mary-the-Virgin Church, in Twickenham.
Stella and brother James were representing their father - who is known to have a frosty relationship with Yoko - as commitments in New York prevented him from attending.
The other surviving Beatle Ringo Starr was also absent, though his wife Barbara Bach was present to show her respects.
Other mourners at the funeral included the group's record producer George Martin, the Beatles original drummer Pete Best and The Who star Pete Townsend.
Townsend sang two of Neil's favourite songs, Bob Dylan's 'Mr. Tambourine Man' and 'My Sweet Lord' by the late Beatles guitarist George Harrison.
Neil - who was chief executive of the band's Apple Corps Ltd - died last month at the age of 66.
He passed away at New York's Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center where he had been receiving treatment for lung cancer.
His death was announced in a joint statement released by Paul, Ringo, Yoko, George's widow Olivia and Apple Corps.
Neil - who sang on the chorus of 'Yellow Submarine' - initially worked as the band's road manager, driving them to concerts in his van. He became chief executive of Apple Corps Ltd in 1970.
He is survived by his wife, Suzy, and five children.
